Magic Brain Potion 1 oz.

$25.00

Organic Holy Basil and Rosemary, with Lion’s Mane & Reishi mushrooms in Organic Vodka.

This magic potion combines four of my favorite herbs for brain health.

Ocimum teniflorium or Ocimum sanctum also known as Tulsi & Holy Basil, is thought to be a manifestation of the goddess Lakshmi, wife of Vishnu. This plant teacher is so revered by Hindus, they are taught to give thanks for its existence before their feet touch the ground in the morning. Tulsi is an adaptogenic herb that tones the whole body by removing corticosterones, the precursor to the stress hormone, cortisol. Containing eugenol and triterpenoic acids, it may relieve anxiety, improve mental clarity, lower blood pressure, detoxify the body and protect from environmental toxins.

Rosemary officinalis is said to enhance memory, simply by inhaling it's aroma. It inhibits the degradation of acetylcholines in the brain, a chemical crucial to memory and concentration. Rich in antioxidants, Rosemary can boost the immune system and improve circulation. It contains carnosic and rosmarinic acids, which have powerful antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal properties. There is so much folklore regarding Rosemary, it would be hard to include it all. Legends say it had white flowers originally, which were turned to blue when the Virgin Mary laid her cloak upon them. Brides wore them in their hair, and would then hang the wreath in Itheir new home, which may have led to Rosemary becoming a symbol of the “dominance of the lady of the house.”

Lion's Mane Mushroom~ Hericium erinaceus, is a beautiful fungi that looks like its name. This magical creature contains two compounds, hericinones and erinacins, which have been shown to cause neurogenesis, (growth of new brain cells!) It has been used to aid Alzheimer's treatment and to speed healing after brain or spinal injuries. In addition to relieving anxiety, and strengthening the nervous and vascular systems, it can also inhibit the growth of H. pylori, the bacteria thought to cause stomach ulcers.. and as clinical studies have shown in recent years, brain health is directly related to a healthy gut biome.

Reishi Mushroom ~ Ganoderma lucidum ~Containing beta-glucan polysaccharides, and terpenes such asganoderic acids, lucidic acid, and ganoderol, Reishi has long been used an elixir of long life. It’s actually the only known source of this triterpene group, which may be responsible for its immune stimulating, and anti-tumor abilities. Reishi is an adaptogenic herb, anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and powerful antiallergen. It’s no wonder this has been THE #1 herb in Chinese Medicine for 2000 plus years, with Ginseng a close second. It’s often called the “Mushroom of Immortality.”

Rosemary and Holy Basil were grown organically in my garden, and Lion's Mane & Reishi were sustainably harvested by a friend on the Humboldt coast. Extracted with Organic Grape Vodka from Sonoma, Ca.
